9/13/97-They Might Be Giants with Lincoln opening, at the Theatre Of Living Arts, in Philadelphia, PA. Early show. Big drive for this one, and I thank my dad for making it. I met with a guy named Josh who helped me get a ticket for this show. We hung out for about four hours before it started. A great number of the online TMBG fans were there. I actually saw John Flansburgh before the show, but he'd walked past me before I could say anything. I did get Graham Maby to autograph a CD for me, he was super-nice about it, shook my hand and all. Had a spot right up front, just to the left of center once the doors opened. Lincoln came on, and I didn't think much of them, at the time. It seemed like a terribly long wait for TMBG. But finally, they came out and rocked the place. It was full of literally thousands of screaming TMBG fans, all intent on crushing me. But, it was ok. They played new songs like Dr. Worm and others, and seemed to be having a great time. Near the end, they announced that for the second show, they'd be playing Rhythm Section Want Ad, and I nearly screamed my head off.
