9/13/97-They Might Be Giants with Lincoln opening at the Theatre Of Living Arts, in Philadelphia, PA. Late show. They got us all outta there, and made us form a line to get back in for the second show. As we'd been up front, we were the last ones out, so therefore destined for the rear of the line. But we wouldn't stand for that. We just got right outside the doors and stopped there, it was great. So we were right up front again, this time more to the right of center. Lincoln was more of the same, but my back was bothering me and so it seemed like their set lasted even longer. But TMBG came out and my back felt just fine. They played Rhythm Secion Want Ad and many new songs as promised. A nice girl named Kate and I amused myself by screaming "It's Not My Birthday," a TMBG song that they haven't played in a decade at the band, trying to convince them to do requests. It was also during this show that I served as a shield for tdk to take pictures with his spiffy digital camera. An MP3 that came from this show was one of the first good recordings of Dr. Worm to make it to the net, and before they start playing, I can very clearly be heard yelling "We've got Him right here!" This was because tdk had a small beanie baby worm. Very good fun. Anyway, along with the first show that night, these two shows are considered to have both been extremely top-notch TMBG concerts. I purchased another tshirt or two here.
Read about the rest of the concerts I've been to on my Concerts Page.
