Hardware Baseball

This is what happens to an LX board that has a nasty tendency to eat DIMMs. As well a crappy modem, a real old riser card of some sort, and some other stuff thrown in just for fun, when they meet a Louisville Slugger.

Here's a few pictures to give you an idea of what went down-

Tom gets some swings in.

Sam had the most against this particular motherboard. It was his RAM that got fried.

Dave concentrates before making contact.

Matt gets ready to send a modem sailing into oblivion.

Anyway, what I really wanted to put up on this page is the video that those pictures are capped from. I actually captured some nice high quality footage, but due to space and download considerations, I'm just putting up Real Media files.-

Sam starts things off with a swing at the motherboard. No, it doesn't actually still work :)

Tom smacks some cards into the ground.

Tom smashes a pile of cards.

Tom goes for the distance record and ends up with a card stuck in the tree.

Sam gets in a few more swings at the hardware that killed his RAM.

Matt nearly sends a card spinning into the onlookers and my house.

I plant a "modem tree."

We pull up the modem tree, show off the former hardware. Be sure to try and read my shirt, and note Tom pointing out the "ground" on the power connector.

That's about it. I highly recommend hardware baseball to anyone with some really terrible hardware. It's great fun. Like I said though, my dad is gonna be pissed about the ISA slots all over the back yard. Now, if they were PCI slots, might be a different story. Damn legacy.

If you happened to enjoy this, or even if you didn't, you might enjoy what Tom, Sam and I did with Power Cooling and my adventures with a Wood Case.
