TMBG At The Water Street Music Hall

They Might Be Giants in Rochester - October 26, 2001

Hot on the heels of a TMBG show the previous night I got the oil changed in my car, skipped O. chem (screw you, Pearson!), and drove to Rochester. The weather was crappy, and it ended up taking a long time. I got to Tom's place, and found out he wasn't even going to the concert, because of some party that night. No worries, as Sam, Liz, Brit, Uptight Mike, Dave Haeffner, and some other guy (Dave conned him into driving to Rochester, all-time slick move, seriously) all met me at Tom's place. Actually, first some Indian guys showed up and caused all manner of trouble, but that's another story for another place and time.

I'd been to the Water Street Music Hall a long time before that night, to catch a show with Luke, Ryan, and Rachel. I had directions that night. We had no directions this night. We drove all over town, with Dave and that other guy following us. We got there eventually, just hearing the last sounds of the opener (OkGo, unless my memory has totally shorted out). Good show, more Spin the Dial (just like the previous night) but not too much other notable stuff. We had a wild night after that, with Krispy Kremes and Tahitian Treat. I wasted most of the rest of the next day at Tom's place, and ended up hitting a deer while driving home on I-90. My life...

Read about the rest of the concerts I've been to on my Concerts Page.
